After a long rest in gorgeous, peaty Islay Barrels this is a special beer, released into the wilds in celebration of our 30th Anniversary.
Here we’ve taken a robust dark beer as a base, which its time in barrel has lead to an intense flavour with characteristic Islay profile.
Waves of smoke, salt, and potent phenolic peatiness all add to the rich malt character of the original beer.

Our Barrel Project is the domain of our Brewer Jim Rangeley, who alongside our Funk Dungeon Project is our Conductor in Chief of all things oaky and funky. This wing of Abbeydale’s brewing came about in 2018 and since then has produced a steady stream of mixed fermented and barrel aged (or, often both) beers. With a focus on unusual, or even unique ingredients and a passion for Brettanomyces, Belgian inspired brewing and sometimes mildly ludicrous experimentation, this innovative and profoundly creative side of Abbeydale is where we really get wild – in more ways than one! Brett, Farmhouse, sour, funk, and layers of flavours imparted in wood are all wrangled by Jim to bring about very special, very small batch, fascinating beers.

DELIVERY INFO
All orders are packaged within 24 hours Monday to Friday, and are delivered in between 1 and 4 days. Please be aware that we cannot offer weekend delivery, and orders made after 1pm on Thursday will be sent the following Monday in order to avoid them spending multiple days in transit.
Please note that gift vouchers are not automated and will be sent by email on the next working day.
