Abbeydale Beerworks Taproom

Introducing Abbeydale Beerworks – the new taproom from Abbeydale Brewery. A welcoming, inclusive destination for beer lovers to find our latest brews and small batch specials, as well as a venue for hosting exclusive tasting events.
Find us at 298 Abbeydale Road – just 200 steps from the brewery itself.
We’ve got 12 draught lines, 10 of which are dedicated to pouring an eclectic selection of our extensive range – 6 keg and 4 cask, with Moonshine, our flagship pale ale, always having a place on the bar (we don’t think we could have opened a taproom without it!), and our freshest new releases, along with a Funk Dungeon line showcasing our small batch mixed fermentation programme, plus cans of our alcohol free Sparkling Hop Water and Reverence 0.5% Pale Ale. All our beers are gluten free and you can find a fridge full of all our cans to take away too. We’ve also got one dedicated guest keg line – the “Friends of Abbeydale Brewery” tap.
And whilst Beerworks is our showcase venue for our beers, we know that you might have friends that like your company more than they like a pint – so we’ve got one ever changing carefully sourced draught cider, plus a small but delicious selection of spirits (including from some amazing local suppliers), wines and soft drinks too – as well as of course the all important crisps! In keeping with the ethos of our beer selection, we’ll have a core range of snacks that’s always available, supplemented with an exciting ever changing “snack of the moment”, curated by your friendly local crisp enthusiasts.
We’re dog friendly and families are welcome too (with the proviso to please make sure you, your dog and your little people are all respectful to others and remain with a responsible adult at all times!). Please note we are unable to offer reservations at this time – sorry!

Events
We hope our taproom will support and enhance the community we are proud to be a part of, so with that in mind once we’re fully up and running we hope to be able to put on a whole host of fun events to really make the most of our versatile, accessible space. From meet the brewers with our beery pals that come to visit us for collaborations, to quiz nights, a running club, “crafternoons” and a Forage to Funk scheme. Keep your eyes peeled for more details coming soon… and do get in touch if there’s anything else you’re keen to see!
The taproom will also be a great finishing point for our regular monthly brewery tours moving forwards.
Our neighbourhood
We’ve called Abbeydale our home for the past thirty years, so taking on the Beerworks is an exciting opportunity for us to play a new part in our fantastic community. We’re surrounded by amazing local businesses and it’s a great destination for a spot of beer tourism in what we truly believe is one of the best cities for beers in the world (and you don’t just have to take our word for it – check out this brilliant report for evidence!)
We’re fortunate to be located close to loads of beautiful green spaces and on a main route into the fantastic Peak District – we welcome explorers to the area and locals alike, and can recommend a lovely walking route up to our sister pub, The Rising Sun, too!
Whilst you’re visiting us, do check out some of the other wonderful independent businesses which make up our neighbourhood – from delicious pastries from our next door neighbours Forge Bakehouse, to freshly wood fired pizzas from Nether Edge Pizza, hand rolled bagels at Best Boy, and tasty tapas at Styr – with more beers and other luscious libations available from The Bear, Dead Donkey, Cole’s Corner, Jabbarwocky, Rumkeg, Over the Yardarm, Corner and more! Plus of course our brewery shop remains open 9am-5pm weekdays if you’d like some extra beers or merch to take home with you.
Transport links
Buses 75, 76, 86, 97 and 98 all run regularly from the City Centre and will drop you mere metres away from our door. We don’t have any designated parking and would recommend you leave your car at home where possible – if you do drive to visit us, please park considerately on the surrounding side streets.
