Beer Festival

The beer festival was a great success, although once again the sun's appearances were limited.

Saturday night was especially good with the whole car-park dancing along to The Call.

Our Charity beer for 2008

Brewed in honour of Roger Crookenden Johnson, a regular at the Rising Sun who has survived two serious brushes with cancer. We toyed with ideas for the name like "Roger's Recovery" but it was finally Roger himself who suggested "Pain in the Ar**".

Money raised from the sale of the beer will go to Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust and will be used to support cancer patients at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

The beer will first be available at Sunfest (see left) and the same charity will be the nominated charity for the festival so money collected in change and beer tickets and fundraising activities will all go to this good cause.
