The Pubs
—
If you can't find Abbeydale beers in these pubs, God help us!
We supply over 400 pubs with our beloved beer and even a real ale off-licence.
Our beer is also supplied through wholesalers which means we never quite know where our concoctions will show up next!
To wet your whistle, here are a few of our favourite pubs which stock our beers in Sheffield and beyond. Also included is the specialist real-ale off licence that we are such big fans of.
Sheffield
The Rising Sun
All praise our only pub, the Rising Sun!
Besides a good selection of continental lagers and fruit draught beers, we stock ten real ales, four Abbeydale regulars and five guest beers (including our very own specials from time to time).
Our guest beers are sourced from microbreweries across the land, so you'll always be sure to find something heavenly here.
471, Fulwood Road, Nethergreen, Sheffield S10 3QA
The Bath Hotel
A CAMRA heritage pub which serves a wide range of real ales.
We love Brian! This is a CAMRA heritage and multi award winning pub which serves a great range of real ales and always keeps our Deception on. Restored in the 1930's. It is just a few yards from Sheffield's main night-life run, West Street. Live jazz/blues music on offer too.
Victoria St, Sheffield S3 7QL
The Devonshire Cat
A modern pub in the Devonshire quarter that offers a fantastic range of real ales and bottled beers.
Their food menu is also pretty impressive.
Devonshire St, Sheffield S1 4HG
Fagans
Named after the previous, long-serving landlord, this is one of Sheffield's hidden gems.
Superb home cooking, a warm welcome and great music ensure that many famous local and visiting musicians find their way here when in the city. Our Moonshine regular is a house favourite.
Broad Lane, Sheffield, S1 4BS
The Fox and Duck
A popular pub with both students and locals that offers a good selection of beers, including our very own Moonshine.
Other Abbeydale beers have also been known to make an appearance.
227 Fulwood Rd, Sheffield, S10
The Ranmoor Inn
A much loved community pub that offers a warm welcome and a good selection of local beers, including our Deception.
Consistent sparkly well polished bar. If there was ever an award for best polished bar it would be for these guys. Recently crowned the one hundredth SIBA local pub by the society of independent brewers.
330 Fulwood Rd, Ranmoor, Sheffield S10 3GD
The Union Hotel
A charming community pub in a classic Sheffield suburb.
Also offers good lunchtime food.
1 Union Rd, Sheffield S11 9EF
Interval Cafe Bar
Moonshine went down a storm here from day one and is now on the house beer.
Described as a continental style cafe/bar, it's a favourite among those who want to relax and chat during the day but steps up a level as the evening approaches with live DJs and music events. Annual beer festivals are also held which Abbeydale usually creates a special festival brew for.
University of Sheffield Union of Students, Leavygreave, Sheffield S10 2TG
Red Lion, Charles St
The landlord Simon Gagg comes from a long line of illustrious pub landlords.
This victorian pub attracts many punters including workers from the town hall and the creative industries quarter.
Simon also takes good advantage of the SIBA DDS scheme and keeps a stunning range of well-kept beers on his bar, including Moonshine.
109 Charles St, Sheffield S1 2ND
The Grapes
This is one of Sheffield's best live music pubs that has hosted the likes of bands such as the Arctic Monkeys.
It's the 'craic' and the whole atmosphere of this Irish boozer makes it very special.
80 Trippet Lane, Sheffield S1 4EL
Washington
Every Monday morning without fail, there is a beer order on our answerphone for the Washington left by them on Sunday night.
This pub is very much a creature of the night, opening from 5:30pm till the early hours. It is a monster of a music venue for Sheffield.
Unlike many of our customers, they have a late club/bar approach which captures the majority of budding academics. They also serve a cracking pint of our Moonshine!
It's described as "A haven of talent and lovely people... where you'll see anything from the cream of the crop of local talent playing... to tim's gramophone being blasted out... to our friendly local busker's playing at the end of an evening... and even a few celebs if you are lucky."
79 Fitzwilliam St, Sheffield S1 4JP
Archer Road Beerstop
A Sheffield off-licence that specialises in real ale, this little gem has been in every Good Beer Guide since 1997.
The owner Dave dispenses draught real ale into a variety of containers and quantities from a few pints to 18 gallons! He deals with a number of local breweries as well as some further afield and also stocks an excellent selection of bottled beers.
As we cannot sell directly to the public, if you want our beer for a party, then Dave is your man!
57 Archer Rd, Sheffield S8 0JT
And Beyond!
The Three Stags Heads
Our first customer!
This CAMRA Heritage Pub has changed little since the 16th Century and even has a pottery in it's stables. (Our tip - if you ask nicely and it's not too busy, owners Pat and Geoff will show you round their pottery and provide you with the opportunity to buy a piece of their work too.)
It offers excellent home-made food and walkers are very welcome, as are dogs and even hawks! (One of the locals takes his hawk with him when he pops in for a pint.)
The pub has four of our beers on draught - Deception, Brimstone, Absolution and Black Lurcher which we named after one of the pub dogs that is now sadly deceased.
Wardlow Mires, Derbyshire SK17 8RW
Dead Poets
An atmospheric old pub with lots of nooks and crannies and tiny rooms.
Great community pub that offers a warm welcome to visitors.
You can usually find at least one of our beers on offer alongside a range of beers sourced from small and regional breweries.
Chapel St, Holbrook, Derbyshire DE56 0TQ
Blue Bell
A delightful village pub run by ex-Sheffielder Ron and his wife Kathleen.
Ron is a stickler for excellent beer and will accept nothing but the best, which is why he keeps our Absolution beer as one of his permanent offerings.
The pub is an old (1645) converted barn and won 'Pub of the Year 2006' by the local Peterborough & District branch of CAMRA.
37-39 High St, Maxey, Nr Stamford PE6 9EE
Greyhound
Another landlord hailing from the 'steel city'!
This pub has a very good choice of beers and is one of our most consistent customers. They always have Absolution on, and often many of our monthly specials too... if you're lucky enough to catch one on the bar!
The pub continues to be renowned for it's vitality and energy and won local CAMRA pub of the year 2009. Well done Steve and crew!
12 County Rd, Stafford, Staffordshire ST16 2PU
The Barge and Barrel
Our Moonshine can always be enjoyed here.
10-20 Park Rd, Elland, West Yorkshire HX5 9AP
The Red Rooster
A regular Moonshine customer.
123 Elland Rd, Brookfoot, Brighouse HD6 2QR
Leggers Inn
Get in your barge and sale up to Dewsbury's canal basin. It's not been in the good beer guide for 13 years for nothing!
A very quirky place and the pub/bar boasts spectacular views over the canal wharf from every window. They also serve top notch beer - including our Moonshine and Deception - and you'll always find a very warm welcome.
Robinsons Boat Yard, Savile Town Wharf, Mill Street East, Dewsbury WF12 9BD
The Red Lion
Here, we would be hunted down and shot if we ever stopped making Absoultion!
The Red Lion is famous for real ale and has long been a favourite for discerning beer drinkers. You can always be sure of a decent pint here. It first became a pub in 1787 when it was converted from three farm cottages.
Thick exposed stone walls and a number of small, cosy rooms with blazing fires, create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Well loved by walkers and tourists.
Church Lane, Litton, Derbyshire SK17 8QU
Willoughby Arms
This pub holds two beer festivals every year. They're also big Absolution fans and serve fantastic home-cooked food.
The Willoughby Arms is a traditional stone country inn, around 150 years old and was originally the booking office and waiting room for a private railway. Situated in a pretty village, the inn enjoys stunning countryside views from the large beer garden.
Station Rd, Little Bytham, Grantham, Lincolnshire NG33 4RA
There's nothing more social than beer!
